拉坯作畫數個月，燒成滿窯辛酸淚。

高溫窯裏的煙呀，全往我的釉裏鑽。
捶心頓足無益，燒去數月光陰何奈！

釉下彩這難纏傢伙，畫得再好都是不作數的，燒成無瑕纔有用。
K昨夜超級仔細的滿窯后，我們“全家”一起吃了頓停歇的火鍋，滿心期待今天的開窯……

挫敗的成果是向上的階梯。（勵志）
還有些沒來得及滿進去燒的，這下反倒是幸運（再勵志）；
再等待，繼續畫，另湊一窯（復勵志）。
今夜稍作感嘆，明天睡醒了又是好漢（大勵志）！

few days to Christmas.

The firing result from yesterday was heartbreaking.
(shortly speaking, we put our 3 months full time works in 1 kiln…and came out only very few fine pcs…)

We had this kind of situation before…but didn’t plan to meet the problem again this time…we thought we’ve got it all figured out after several several times of trying…

But I wake up this morning with full of energy again.
I am reloaded and prepare to make it right ‘next time’.
High fire porcelain is full of unexpected surprises.
I do learn a lot from the failure processes.
And I am grateful for that.

好結果

*日夜溫差好大。
雖然早晚冷得只剩一只手數得出來的溫度，每天中午前後兩個時辰的飽滿陽光、溫暖得讓人感到無限幸福。有這麽好的陽光，啥事都是小問題。

不過。
溫差大是大問題。
感冒發燒的人好多。
周圍的朋友和不認識的人都感冒了，每天還要很努力讓自己不感冒。

*早出晚歸。
雖然已經斷然拒絕許多新項目需求，但手邊該收尾的工作仍然滿檔，一點沒有讓放假美夢實現的意思。我希望能夠在日落之前到家，窩在家中繼續其他工作，但總不成。同樣的路走回家，冬日感覺這路更漫遠。
夜的溫度低。天空好高，星星好多。
呼出的氣向上飛時我想，到底是冬天的星星多，還是夏天的星星多？

*面南陽光幸福。
住所有個面南的大院子或者大陽臺，是冬日生活必備品。
日頭初升會有一大堆鳥跑來曬太陽，再晚點我也會搬個小板凳、抱一叠圖紙和一杯熱茶去曬；這幾天早晨八點就有好陽光，雖然工作相關的事情催啊催，也要賴在那個陽光下喝完茶再出門。（早晨六點半那杯咖啡可以將我從床上拔起，八點那杯茶卻幾乎要留人在家，這之間的拉拔關係真微妙~）

今天周六，有個早起的小孩兒在一樓吹泡泡。
透明彩色的泡泡向上不斷飄，在我眼前的高度破掉。
看了一杯茶的時間我囘過神想，這泡泡飛得真高，能飛五層樓。
每層樓的挑高連地面有三米多，五層就有十五米多。
我以前吹的泡泡，了不起飛到三樓就不行了。
整裝下樓時還想去問問小傢伙用的是什麽，下了樓卻不見人影。
沿路往外走，見他在前頭跑著，手上的玩具已經變成一只長竹竿，正和另一個小男孩兒決鬥著。

嘗試各種釉下色料和面釉作用的過程，往往失敗的多。

比如這個，釉下彩料有2種，釉面也有2種（頂層的釉要製作出雪餅上糖霜的效果），色彩在釉面的作用后，產生的效果不如預期，但也有趣–好像原子筆畫在紙上，卻滴到水暈開了–這暈開的畫面，如同小學時在課本的空白角落塗鴉。。。。。。

這個暈開的效果不會是作品的一部分，缺陷卻令自己開心而回味無窮。

Since most of my updated works are in the processing, I do not have much to share yet. These are the random sketches that I did but not relating to my ceramic works…

Making above 2 in the bitter winter with icy clay and glazes were definitely not pleasant. Especially when the firing didn’t go well and the glaze were pulling/squeezing the shape to flat open…. but its still so much fun.

The last yellow cup, I made quite a bit before they went into the kiln, but then only 3 of them came out acceptable. 2 were sold to foreign visitors (金髮藍眼睛 不知何國人) while they walked by and bought 2 other vases along with them. I kept one to myself.

最近實在太冷了，我卻仍然忙得馬不停蹄。
馬上要離開上海、去福建幾天、然後囘臺灣過年；
這套2009年度的情人節對杯，現在先推出。

我每年會做出一套情人對杯，每組的數量則要看燒窯的成功率來決定。

今年這套，是豹紋組合，靈感來自于一次在07年春末和女友S的對話。

這組杯子的外頭和盤子，使用的是黑色無光’熔岩‘肌理釉葯，對溫度要求相對敏感，杯上的肌理不明顯，盤子的邊緣處比較充分表現。

杯子的裏面分別是金橘/黑，和金棕/白的組合雙層豹紋釉；
施釉需分多次多道手續，對坯體和釉水結合度的要求高。
釉葯内含多種貴金屬，成效令人滿意。

和從前一樣,分別有小杯（125ml）帶托盤的四件套，另有大杯（300ml）的兩件套。
兩件套因杯身較高，杯底的氣氛不足，裏釉不易表現，成套數相對少。

製作的過程和故事本應娓娓而道，但S已經特別交代故事對話不可聲張，而我也忙得腦袋打結，所以不多說。

I make couple(pair) cup set each year to celebrate Valentine’s Day with you. This year its the ‘Leopard Love’.

Its a perfect gift to express your love with passion, or, to reheat it!!

This couple cup set is included 2 cups and 2 saucers <4 pcs in total.>
approx. 125ml each cup

They are wheel thrown and fired with special color glazes. I have done more than 30 time-trials to get this glaze recipe and I am pretty happy with the result.

outside and on the plate : mat black glaze with ‘lava’ style texture. Especially on the rim of the plate, the irregular lava texture has shown more.

inside of the cups: ‘Leopard pattern’ (orange/black tone)(golden white/brown tone) The glaze has included some noble metals, and I think its worthy.

* Lead free.
* Microwave & wash-machine safe.
* Please don’t use on the oven top.

A girlfriend claimed that she just couldn’t appreciate the under-glazing （釉下彩） or high fire color glazing（高溫顔色釉） ceramics.

‘Why don’t you play with some colors, patterns or over-glazing (釉上彩) decoration?’ she asked.
‘Because its very simple, stable, and not much challenge of crafting.’ I said.

Yet one day I was done drawing on a major project (which has been failed for n times.) and wandering around with my pen & sketchbook… It came to me that maybe simple color, pattern, or over-glazing are a lack of craftsmanship; but craftsmanship is not necessary the only thing to create sweet objects or having fun.

So here goes the pattern.
high fire (1320C) for mat white glaze;
2nd fire 800C for the colors.

I only made few pieces for fun.
And it’s a great pleasure to share some creating processes with you
